Tallit Set – Colored Jerusalem on Blue Background by Yair Emanuel

Yair Emanuel continues his line of tallit sets with this raw silk addition portraying Jerusalem against a blue background as well as Hebrew blessings. The Hebrew blessing, "…asher kideshanu bemitzvotav vitzivanu lehitatef betzitzit" or "G-d made us holy through commanding us to don the tzitzit" is also written across the yoke of the shawl above a line of Jerusalem structures. On the bag, a square design of Jerusalem buildings encircles the Hebrew word "tallit".

The Talit is a prayer shawl worn around the back and draped over the arms when praying. The Tallit has fringes tied in a certain way on the four corners of the Tallit. Tallitot are required to have four knotted strings on each corner of the garment, known as Tzitzit. The Tallit tradition comes from a verse in the Bible which instructs Jews to add four fringes to a garment to cover themselves. The specifications for the Tallit today have been established by scholars and Rabbis over the years.

This Tallit set is remarkably done and will be a stunning Bar Mitzvah gift!
